Our Mission

The ZERO Coalition is committed to an equity-centered approach to decarbonizing buildings in Oregon. We work to ensure that the market conditions and regulatory frameworks are in place to advance sustainability in the built environment in a way that leaves no one behind.

As a coalition of organizations working with a wide array of constituents and stakeholders, we recognize the benefit of collaboration to create a greater impact on building energy performance and affordability. We bring together the work and perspectives of nonprofit organizations, policy advocates, businesses, manufacturers, city and county governments, community organizations, environmental justice partners, and energy service providers. We collaborate to help Oregon meet our climate responsibilities.

We work to:

●   Ensure Executive Orders 17-20 and 20-04 become reality;

●   Ensure planning for building decarbonization considers the impacts on all Oregonians–especially low-income Oregonians;

●   Help ensure that building decarbonization efforts have a positive impact on Oregon's businesses and our state's economy;

●   Help create a resilient Oregon that is better protected from a changing climate and doing its part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Reversing global warming will take a World War II level of mobilization. It is the work of tens of millions, not hundreds of thousands.
